Recent Windows 7 updates (Jul 10-12 2018) introduce an issue that prevents some services from stopping correctly. This effects in problems with the server uninstallation during upgrade.
This is happening on Windows 7 only, depends on network drivers and may or may not happen on your PC.
However, we recommend to uninstall and disable the following updates before upgrading to a newer version or installing a fresh version of qulu:
- KB4340556
- KB4338818
- KB4054530
To uninstall:
- Go to Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features -> Installed Updates
- Locate the desired update
- Right click on it and select "Uninstall"
- Repeat the above actions to all the updates
To disable (prevent from further installing):
- Go to Control Panel -> System and Security -> Windows Update
- Click "Check for Updates". The updates that have been uninstalled should show up
- Right click on each update and select "Hide update".
After Microsoft resolves the issue is resolved it will be possible to reinstall the hidden updates:
- Go to Control Panel -> System and Security -> Windows Update
- Click "Restore Hidden Updates"
- Check the desired updates and click "Restore".
