INTRODUCTION 

This document will describe the process how to set initial Config and Upgrade the Firmware [FW] via Web Interface on the PVM10CAMx monitor. 

Download the Firmware

Firmware files and Release Notes are available from Vista web site, Support Section

Select > Downloads > VistaIP select your PVM10CAMx > Firmware > FW(latestFW) > Web_Update_zip



To Upgrade the FW, you must be able to access the monitor’s web page via a Laptop/PC.

{all Firmware is .zip format and will need unzipping}



Discovery & IP Address setting


Download “Device Finder”, this program detects and discovers any PVM10CAMx Monitor on the network and allows simple IP address setting as well as access to the monitors web page. PVMCAM Device Finder can be found on following link:

Run the Device Finder it will identify any PVMCAM on the network and shows it IP address. [Fig 1]

The PVM10CAMx monitors are set to DHCP, so will be allocated a DHCP address if this facility is available on the network, if need to change the Network setting this can be done by selecting the required monitor enter “Username & Password” [admin / admin] then select [Settings] here you can “Adjust the Network Settings” [Fig 2]

If there is no DHCP service on the network, the units will default to address 192.168.30.220. To change the address, use the above procedure. (Note: The Laptop/PC must be in the same Network segment: 192.168.30……)

Upgrade Firmware


This Process with describe how to upgrade the Firmware on the PVM10CAMx Public Display Monitor. 

**Note: Refer to the beginning of the procedure to download the latest Firmware {complete with release notes}. Save this file to the Laptop/PC you will be using to Upgrade the PVM’s, the file downloaded will be .zip format this will need to be unzipped before carrying out the upgrade**

 

Once the IP address of the monitor is set, Under Device Info is the URL to browse to the Web Interface.

Click on the monitor [Web Url] to open the web page [Fig 3] 

**Important: - ensure the default browser used is Internet Explorer**

Enter Username & Password [Fig 4] Once logged in a “message will be displayed advising to change admin password” Change if required or click OK [Fig 5] 

The main webpage will appear as shown below [Fig 6] click/select [Config]

Click/Select [Config] then click [Maintenance] then click [Firmware Upgrade] [Fig 7]

After you have selected [Firmware Upgrade] [Fig 8] will be displayed, this displays the current firmware version a previous upgrade time. 

Click/Select [Browse…] and browse to the upgrade files {ipcam.fw} you have been sent or downloaded from Vista-CCTV.com “Downloads Section” Once you have selected the upgrade file click/select [Upgrade] to perform upgrade process.

Upgrade process will take approximately 5 – 10 minutes via IE.

**Note: Please don’t power the unit off during the upgrade process**

Once the upgrade process has completed the monitor will reboot.

Please login to the web interface to check the latest firmware is loaded. Click/Select [System Information]

After upgrade is completed select [Maintenance] then [Configuration] click on [Default] this will default the unit to “Factory Setting” once completed the PVM will reboot. 

**Note: Please note this will reset all settings to default including Logo’s**

 

Close the IE web interface, this completes the procedure.
